Abstract
225 cases of acute glomerilonephritis, rheumatic fever and scarlet fever which had been admitted in tha Severance Hospital were studied for seasonal variations of incidence and probable factors which might influence any variations found.
1. Boys were more often affected than girls.
2. The incidence was highest between the ages of 4 to 12.
3, Seasonal incidence of these 3 diseases were almost same, being more prominent from September to January, with a peak in October. Another peak was observed from May to June.
4. The causes of such seasonal variations in incidence are still in question and uncertain. Environmental temperature of 14~15¡É in spring and autumn and "gathering of children and contact with each other" are considered to be probably influencing factors to the prevalence of streptococcal infection.
